1. Who We Are
Chalk ("we," "our," or "us") is a mobile application that helps coaches, parents, and players manage sports teams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Chalk app.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and the authentication method you choose (Apple Sign In, Google, or email).
Team & Player Data: Coaches may enter player names, roster details, schedules, attendance records, and team communications. Parents may add their children's names and link them to a team roster.
Usage Data: We collect basic usage information (features accessed, session duration) to improve the app. This data is aggregated and not tied to individuals.
Device Information: We may collect device type and operating system version for troubleshooting purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Chalk app
- To send team-related notifications and messages within the app
- To process subscription payments (handled by Apple / RevenueCat)
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the app based on aggregated usage patterns
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Sharing
Within Your Team: Coaches can see all roster and attendance data for their team. Parents can see their child's information and team schedule. Players' information is only visible to their team's coach and the parent/guardian who added them.
Service Providers: We use the following third-party services to operate Chalk:
- Supabase – database and authentication hosting
- RevenueCat – subscription management
- Apple / Google – sign-in authentication
- Mux – video streaming for film review features
Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and team data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Coaches who delete their account will be prompted to transfer team ownership first.
6. Children's Privacy
Chalk is designed for coaches and parents managing youth sports teams. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Player names and data are entered by coaches or parents/guardians, not by the children themselves. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account directly within the Chalk app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Chalk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
